I am so excited because summer is around the corner! I am gradually putting my winter coats and outfits away. Today’s post is slightly different as I will be sharing some tips on how to make the most out of the summer holidays…
1- Learn a new skill – We all know that summer is fun but at the same time it can also be long. To avoid boredom and to make the most of your spare time, you can learn a new skill and discover an entirely new strength that you didn’t even know you had. New skills can include learning how to ride a bicycle or how to cook, or even taking an online course in photography.
2 – Update your resume – The summer is a great time to update your resume. If you want to save a few ‘bob’ or want to plan a holiday trip, you will need to get a job, well unless you have rich parents. Even at that, you don’t want to be dependent on your parents forever, it is also a good way of learning how to become responsible.
3 – Travel- The summer period is a great time to travel. However, travelling is also a great way of expanding your knowledge both about yourself and the world around you. The ability to step out of your comfort zone enables you to meet new people, engage with new cultures and discover a new lifestyle. This will enable you to gain rich and meaningful insights into the world around you. This can help you re-direct your purpose. I have heard that solo trips are great for self-discovery. I’d love to hear back from you on that note 🙂
In events that your unable to leave the country, dont worry, It is still possible to plan a trip within the country you live in. Often times we forget that there are tourist attractions in the country we live in. For example, within Ireland, I have gone on day trips to Newcastle and The Cliff of Moher and both experiences were extraordinary! There are other places I am yet to visit such as the Giant’s Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge in Belfast, The Ring of Kerry, The Guinness Store House and many more click here.
4 –Find a fitness buddy- The summer holiday is a great time to get fit and engage in a healthy lifestyle. Having a fitness buddy helps you to stay motivated and it also creates a sense of accountability.
5 – Mix scheduling with being spontaneous –It is great to have goals and plans, most importantly it helps you to feel on top of things. But sometimes, it is also important to be spontaneous as new ideas and creativity can be developed in these moments. Essentially, we don’t want our summer holidays to feel too rigid or lead to boredom!
This brings me to the end of today’s post. *Remember to always consider it a point of duty to always make yourself happy. The sun does a great job with having everyone in a great mood anyway so take advantage of it!
See you soon,
